01What it becomes
Server-side API calls to Stripe’s customer portal. The plugin is built on Bubble’s plugin API tab, so its calls become server-side API calls with the same parameters; the Stripe key comes from an environment variable and never reaches the browser.
No extra npm package: the generated code uses React, Next.js and browser APIs only.
02What converts
- Customer portal sessions (fixed or dynamic return URL)
- Create, update, retrieve and list customers
- Retrieve a customer’s subscription
03What you set up
- Add the Stripe key the plugin uses to your hosting’s environment variables (listed in .env.example).
04About this plugin
Stripe Customer Portal.
Questions
- Does the Stripe Customer Portal plugin work outside Bubble?
- Not as it is: Bubble plugins only run inside Bubble. In a Next.js app it is replaced by generated code — Server-side API calls to Stripe’s customer portal.
- Will my Stripe Customer Portal settings carry over?
- Yes. deBub reads the plugin’s settings, conditions and workflows from your .bubble export and converts all of the plugin’s parts. Secret keys are the exception: you add them as environment variables.
